Improving the Efficiency of Ruminal Ammonia Nitrogen Utilization for Milk Protein Synthesis and Reducing Nitrogen Losses in Dairy Cows Grant uri icon

Overview

abstract

  • The efficiency of ammonia utilization in the rumen is a critical factor determining the economic and environmental cost of milk protein production. The goal of this project is to enhance, through dietary means, the capture of ruminal ammonia nitrogen into microbial and consequently milk protein and to effectively reduce nitrogen excretions in dairy cows.
