FY 2005 Canola Research-Pacific Northwest Region Grant uri icon

  • A significant potential exists in the Pacific Northwest for seed production and use of canola as an edible oil and as a biolubricant/biofuel. Constraints to canola production in this region include the need for a winter canola, that will allow direct seeded recrop canola; need for a drought tolerant variety of Brassica juncea; and information on crop management systems to address the needs of growers in producing canola. Funding received from this program provides support for research on a regional basis to provide research based solutions to canola production problems in the PNW.
