On Farm Evaluation of Slow-release Nitrogen for Winter Wheat Production in High Precipitation Areas of North Central Idaho Grant uri icon

Overview

abstract

  • Soil fertility practices are changing because ammonium nitrate is no longer available and poly-coated urea could provide enhanced fertilizer effeciency and protect groundwater from nitrate contamination. Growers need fertilizer approaches that allow high yields, are easy to apply, and protects the ecosystem. Create information and get the information into growers knowlegde of enhanced fertilizer practices using new materials. This will increase fertilizer effeciency, and protect precious groundwater resources.
