Algorithum Development for Remote Sensing of Idaho Water Resources and Field Burning Grant uri icon

Overview

abstract

  • Remote sensing has the potential to provide valuable information regarding several land surface processes and conditions relevant to agriculture in Idaho. Methods will be developed to estimate evapotranspiration from vegetated surfaces using remotely sensed surface temperatures, to estimate snowfall and accumulations in mountainous terrain using nexrad precipitation radar, and to locate and quantify burnt acreage using Landsat TM (Thematic Mapper) imagery.
