abstract
Environmental application of microbial antagonists of plant pathogens offers prospects of environmentally benign plant disease control. Other microbes are important environmental pollutants, for example microbial pollution of water sources is a significant environmental problem. We will develop methods for effective use of a beneficial fungus for disease control in conifer nurseries, and we will develop methods to monitor sources of bacterial pollution in natural watersheds.
