Overview
abstract
In the arid Western United States groundwater quantity and quality are areas of major concern. The vadose zone is often viewed as a barrier preventing groundwater contamination however; often it is a conduit for contaminant migration from land surface to groundwater supplies. This project improves the understanding of transport and transformation of chemicals in the vadose zone. Specially, the effects of changing water content on sorption processes will be studied.
