Effects of Nitrogen Resource Availability on Conifer Stress Resistance Grant uri icon

Overview

abstract

  • Impetus to reduce the consumption of water in landscape use and the hazard of nutrient runoff provides an opportunity for investigating avenues of modifying plant physiological responses to reduce input needs - but at the same time maintain desired aesthetic qualities. Examining nitrogen availability across typical ornamental landscapes will provide a foundation upon which we can investigate the effect of cultural treatments on tree growth, stress and pest resistance.
