Factors Contributing to the Nematocidal Activity of a New Species of Pseudomonas in Vitro and in Soil. Grant uri icon

Overview

abstract

  • There is an increasing need to develop chemical-free ways to control nematocides . This project will explore how a newly discovered soil microbe is able to kill a model nematode, Caenorhabditis elegans, so efficiently. It is expected that learning this process will either lead us to toxins that can be produced in transgenic plants, or to ways to search for additional bacterial species that can provide biologically specific toxins of the kind we seek.
