Reducing Barriers to Adoption of Microirrigation Grant uri icon

Overview

abstract

  • Although microirrigation has proven to be a highly efficient method of irrigating with minimum water, and allows precise water and nutrient application at any desired interval, it has been adopted on only a fraction of the land area appropriate for the technology. This project will identify equipment design and maintenance barriers, and grower attitude barriers to more widespread adoption of this technology. Once barriers are identified, research and education efforts will be developed to help overcome these barriers.
