In Vitro Investigation of the Human Innate Immune Response to Yersinia Pestis
Microorganisms that are capable of subverting the human immune system have the ability to cause disease. Understanding how this process occurs is an important first step towards improving the ability to prevent, detect, and treat disease caused by these bacteria. This project addresses the ability of human neutrophils to respond to Yersinia pestis. The purpose of this study is to identify mechanisms used by Yersinia pestis to cause disease.
