Overview

abstract

  • Reducing the potential for wildfire in public forest lands requires costly fuels-reduction treatments. Cost-effective harvesting methods and new wood-based products are needed to offset these treatment costs. The purpose of this research is to develop and improve wood products manufactured from small-diameter trees in the Inland Northwest. This will provide opportunities to utilize woody materials that need to be removed from forests to reduce fuels that lead to wildfires.
