The Importance of Endophytic Fungi in Conferring Resistance to White Pine Blister Rust Grant uri icon



  • The main objectives are to integrate studies of host and endophyte-mediated resistance to disease in forest trees, and to train a PhD student in this novel research area. Specific objectives include the identification of mutualistic fungal endophytes in western white pine, and their use in preventing the development of white pine blister rust. The restoration of western white pine is the overall goal.
