Assessing Intelligent Transportation System Educational Needs

abstract
The project examines ITS educational needs in both undergraduate and graduate Transportation Engineering education. The project will start by reviewing and documenting the state-of-the-practice of ITS education in U.S. Universities and colleges. A survey tool will be developed and sent to transportation professionals in the public and private sectors and to transportation educators to identify and assess ITS educational needs. Finally based an ITS graduate course outline will be developed and modifications to existing transportation courses to include ITS concepts and components will be proposed.
