In this project, we propose to expand the city of Moscow field lab data collection capabilities by instrumenting key intersections in the city with devices to collect high resolution signal status and detector status data, in addition to external signal operations data. The project objectives are:
1. Design, test, and implement a high resolution signalized intersection monitoring system at key intersections in the city of Moscow. The proposed monitoring system is capable of collecting, storing, and transmitting controller status data, detector status data, and external sensors (Bluetooth, system, GPS, and contact closure data).
2. Develop field modules for illustrating traffic signal concepts for university students and practitioners.
