Rapid development of specialty varieties is needed to supply current markets and to develop additional markets for barley producers to be profitable. Disease, production practices and poor agronomic traits limit the profitability of many cultivars. The research will address those issues associated with specialty and malt barley varieties, including agronomic practices and disease resistance.
