Multicenter in vitro assessment of 4D PC MRI for quantification of CSF motion
This grant has funding remaining to support 1 Ph.D. student for 1 year under the PI. CSF dynamics are thought to be indicative of Chiari I malformation (CM) severity. The accurate detection and assessment of abnormalities in CSF dynamics could help in clinical decisionmaking. However, studies utilizing 2D PC MRI as a tool to assess CSF dynamics have brought mixed results. The goal of the proposed study is to assess the reliability and repeatability of novel 4D PC MRI-based measures of cerebrospinal fluid dynamics at multiple MRI centers in the world using an in vitro model.
