The focus of this research area will be the design and application of fuel cells in low-power transportation applications. We will team with Washington Water Power (now Avista) to take advantage of their newly developed 60-watt fuel cell. Issues to be addressed include using fuel cells in applications such as wheelchairs, small outboard boat motors, scooters, and snowmobiles.
