Overview

abstract

  • Policy brief from the James A. & Louise McClure Center for Public Policy Research | Idaho at a Glance. January 2017, Vol. 8, No.1 | Year after year, Idaho has ranked at or near the bottom of all 50 states in terms of how many students pursue postsecondary education directly after high school. To better understand why Idaho's "go-on" rate is so low, we surveyed 385 young adults who had graduated from Idaho high schools in spring 2015. Our first report on the survey is available at www.uidaho.edu/IdahoataGlance. This second report offers a deeper look at the data. For this report, we present only findings that are strongly supported by our statistical analysis. A "p" value is given throughout to indicate the strength of evidence for each finding (lowest values = strongest evidence).
