Joseph M Meier Affiliate Faculty

Positions

Joseph M. Meier is a partner and practices in the areas of bankruptcy, commercial, real property and business law with the Boise law firm of Cosho Humphrey, LLP. Mr. Meier has represented creditors, debtors, committees and trustees in proceedings under all chapters of the United States Bankruptcy Code. He also represents lenders and borrowers in complex loan restructures as well as in commercial litigation. 

Mr. Meier has frequently been asked to speak to attorneys, business and professional groups on bankruptcy and real property issues. He is a member of the Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Section of the Idaho State Bar and the American Bankruptcy Institute. Mr. Meier is a past chair of the Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Section of the Idaho State Bar (1999-2000) and sat on the Governing Board of that Section from 1995 to 2001. 

Commencing in 2003 he served as a lawyer representative to the United States District Court for the District of Idaho and in July 2008 completed a three year additional term as the chairperson of the Lawyer Representative Coordinating Committee (L.R.C.C.) for the Ninth Circuit Conference of the United States Courts. The L.R.C.C. plans and participates in annual meetings of the chief district judges, bankruptcy judges and magistrate judges in the 15 districts of the Ninth Circuit scheduled to allow the bar to assist the judiciary in improving the administration of justice. 

Joe Meier also served a three year term of the Conference Executive Committee of the Ninth Circuit that plans and implements the annual Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference attended by all Judges in the Circuit as well as lawyer representatives in all 15 districts.
